Golf Ball Challenge

On the Friday 9th July, Miss J Mitchell and Mr D Knott took twelve year 9 Furness Academy Students to attend the School's Engineering Project  2010 at Barrow Sixth Form college.

The students had to design, build and test a device to attach to a radio controlled car. The car had to carry and deliver a golf ball over a given course. The students excelled themselves and carried seven golf balls in their device at any given time. The students were spilt up into two teams, North Site and South Site. They competed against St Bernards, Walney and Dowdales, at the end of the event students were marked on the amount of balls carried, design, manufacture and driving skills.  The students behaved in a exemplary manner and due to their hard work and determination North Site won the competition.
