Rock Wrangle

Miss Cairns had the pleasure of taking six Year 7 students to Bolton to compete in the Times Tables Rock Wrangle. There were teams from primary and secondary schools across the North West competing; students had to answer as many times tables questions as they could in a minute. Our team tried really hard and came 12th out of 36 schools.

But the real star in our team was Paul Simpson, who made it through qualifiers to the final 16 students. He went on to compete in the quarter final, semi-final and made it to the Grand Final where four students competed against each other to be crowned the Supreme Ultimate Rock Hero for Eternity. In the final, Paul managed to answer 248 questions correctly in three minutes, but unfortunately this wasn’t enough to beat the winner who got a score of 376! Paul did incredibly well to finish 4th out of around 130 students.

The students behaved superbly all day and really showed off their times tables skills when it came to competition time.
