From the Principal
Our Summer term is now well underway and I am very pleased with the dedication our students have been showing towards their studies and the energy which they have been putting into the wider activities at the Academy.
The year 11 have been working their way through the exam timetable and, with only a few exams still remaining, students can now start to look forward to their well deserved break. I am sure that the commitment that students have shown will stand them in good stead with their results in August.
Away from the classroom we have seen some great teamwork on the sports field with the year 10 Cricket team getting to the final of the Cumbria schools county Twenty20 competition. The team who were ultimately runners up to Sedburgh School, beat St Bernard' Catholic High School, Chetwynde School and Dallam School on their way to the final round.
Finally, good luck to our students who have been entered into the Royal British Student Artists exhibition at the Royal College of Art and the Spririted Arts competition. The Academy is very proud to hear of our students contributing to such highly respected national competitions and I wish you the best of luck for the next stage.
Best wishes,
Mr. Blackledge
